Brian Grove leads a food service program of 10 dining centers and over 2000 staff that consistently ranks among the best college food in America by sources including Newsweek, Niche, The Princeton Review, College Magazine, and Brian’s favored standard of excellence, Virginia Tech students.

Proud to serve his constantly learning and innovating unit of Student Affairs, Brian shares an expansive and practical vision of Dining Services that fosters student development and community while serving over 7 million meals a year. Brian’s professional inspiration and leadership impetus is doing whatever it takes to provide excellent service, food, and experiences to students every day.

Grove holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from Virginia Tech and is energized to contribute his background in design thinking toward the visioning and development of campus dining facilities and teams. Major projects have included Burger ‘37, Frank's Deli, D2, and Turner Place, and Brian looks forward to the planned opening of the multivenue Perry Place at Hitt Hall in spring 2024.

A devoted Hokie, Brian’s career with Dining Services began as a student employee providing direct customer service with Personal Touch Catering. He has enjoyed growing with Dining Services throughout his 20 years in varied and progressive roles in management, training, and project coordination.

Even outside of work, Brian enjoys providing hospitality to friends and family, and he continually explores his passion to cook alongside his wife, a fellow Hokie. Brian pursues his commitment to fellowship, goodwill, and community service through active roles with local and regional Ruritan organizations.
