Flex Out Hunger allows students to donate Flex dollars to two local programs addressing food insecurity, May 3 – 7.

Through the years the campaign has raised over $300,000 for the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program in Christiansburg, which provides food and household items for local families in need. As this program continues to extend its reach for the first time in the campaign’s history, 25% of the money raised will also go to the Dean of Students Office Food Emergency Fund, to help fellow Hokies.

Plan holders can donate in person at Dietrick Hall, Owens Food Court, Hokie Grill, West End Market, Squires Student Center and 1872 Fire Grill, Origami, Dolci e Caffe at Turner Place between 10:00 AM-6:00 PM.

Students can also donate online with the link to download the donation form and return to Sandra Davis. A Virginia Tech email is required for processing.

Donations must be received either by email or in person at the dining centers by 6:00 PM on May 7th.

Flex Bulk Buys available at Xpress Lane at Dietrick Hall, Owens Food Court at Owens Hall, and West End Market at Cochrane Hall, May 3 – 12.

Xpress Lane at Dietrick Hall will also have bulk buying available through Sunday, May 16.

Bulk Buys include shelf stable items such as bottled drinks, packaged snacks, bulk candy, and in some locations, cases of produce and raw protein options.

Campus dining centers will operate under a modified schedule for the close of spring semester final examinations on Wednesday, May 12 and during continued commencement ceremonies between Thursday, May 13 and Sunday, May 16.
